California Roads is a client-side texture pack that remasters almost every street in Los Santos with high-quality surfaces modelled on real Los Angeles asphalt. It loads only on your machine, so you get a cleaner, more believable city without touching server performance or asking an admin to stream anything.
The pack repaints city roads, sidewalks and lane markings in 1K to 2K resolution, with some detail textures dialled even higher. Coverage stretches across the vast majority of the map, from the dense downtown grid out to the winding country highways, giving the whole world a consistent, freshly paved feel.
What California Roads changes
Every surface is rebuilt to sit naturally with the base lighting and weather, so nothing looks pasted on.
- Crisp 1K to 2K asphalt with clean, accurate lane markings.
- Matching sidewalks, kerbs and gutters for a seamless streetscape.
- Realistic wear, patches and colour variation instead of flat grey tarmac.
- Broad map coverage from the city core to rural roads.
- Regular update history keeping textures fresh and sharp.
Install and compatibility
Setup is beginner-friendly and reversible in seconds if you change your mind.
- Drop the files into your FiveM mods folder and launch.
- No server.cfg edits or resource setup required on your side.
- Plays nicely with weather packs, ReShade presets and vegetation mods.
- Push anisotropic filtering high for the sharpest possible surfaces.
- Delete the files any time to return to vanilla roads.
Faded, low-resolution tarmac is one of the quickest giveaways that an install is showing its age, and swapping it out instantly modernises the entire driving experience. Whether you cruise, drift or shoot cinematic clips, better roads carry every frame.
The textures are optimised so frame rates stay stable even on mid-range hardware, making this an easy win for roleplay servers and screenshot artists alike. It layers cleanly under a graphics preset when you want that final photoreal polish.
Give your city the resurface it deserves and browse more options in our client-side mods collection, or complete the transformation with builds from our maps and MLOs range.
It also slots naturally into the loops your players already enjoy, giving staff and regulars one more reason to keep coming back, and because it is open-source you can adjust, rename and balance it to match exactly how your own server likes to run.
